Llega el Chrome SO

Google mostró los primeros rasgos de su nuevo sistema operativo gratuito

18:00 (20 Nov)- Mediante una conferencia online y un acto en su sede central, Google presentó el nuevo sistema operativo Chrome SO, que se basa en su propio navegador y para funcionar adecuadamente necesita siempre una conexión a Internet de calidad. La compañía dio a conocer el código de Chrome SO, a la comunidad tecnológica contribuir en su desarrollo. Además.... informó que inicialmente el sistema está pensado para netbooks y prevé que llegue a finales de 2010 a estos dispositivos.

El sistema operativo está basado en la 'computación en la nube' (cloud computing), de manera que todos los programas y aplicaciones se ejecutarán en línea. "Los usuarios no tendrán que cargar nada ni descargar actualizaciones para trabajar y jugar en línea", explica la nota emitida por el megabuscador de internet.

El comunicado resalta la velocidad, la seguridad y la sencillez de Chrome SO. "En los últimos años, la gente ha ido pasando cada vez más tiempo en Internet haciendo cosas que requerían cada vez más potencia, por lo que queríamos crear una experiencia informática básicamente diferente basada en la forma en que utilizamos Internet hoy", afirmó Sundar Pichai, Vicepresidente de Gestión de Productos de Chrome.
